In this example we shall show you how to use a byte type in Java. The byte data type is an 8-bit signed two’s complement integer. It has a minimum value of -128 and a maximum value of 127 (inclusive). The byte data type can be useful for saving memory in large arrays, where the memory savings actually matters. They can also be used in place of int where their limits help to clarify your code.

    To create variable of byte type one should use the byte keyword in a variable,

as described in the code snippet below.

	public static void main(String[] args) {
		
		byte b1 = 111;
		byte b2 = 4;
		 
		System.out.println("Value of byte b1 is: " + b1);

Output:

Value of byte b1 is: 111
Value of byte b1 is: 4
